100-0062_imgConcrete is a building material that contains a mixture of small stones, sand, and cement. Water is added to those materials and when it’s mixed with the cement it forms a solid mass.  The hardening process of the concrete when mixed with water is called hydration.  Once the components are bonded together they become a solid material.  Concrete is mainly used for foundations, pavement, large buildings, bridges, walls and parking garages.  At Stone Tech Designs we primarily use concrete for driveways, sidewalks, patios, foundations, and as a baselayer for interlocking or clay paver patios.  A concrete driveway is very durable and can give off a nice look.  Concrete can be cheaper than most other paving products and it is used more than any other man-made product in the world.
